FRAME BY FRAME

“Frame by Frame” is a dynamic leadership and life-skills development program that leverages digital filmmaking and storytelling to empower youth (ages 12 to 18) to become successful and engaged citizens. Operating primarily in the Sacramento Region, with plans for expansion, Frame by Frame collaborates with the Police Activities League to offer students a unique platform to explore and address issues that matter to them and their communities through the art of film.
In this innovative program, students produce a complete horror/thriller film with a runtime of 50 minutes.

Through this hands-on experience, they develop critical-thinking and literacy skills, engage in creative problem-solving, and enhance their academic competence. Frame by Frame also fosters leadership and team-building abilities, contributing to personal growth and academic success.

By creating and sharing their film projects, students gain a powerful voice in shaping their communities, learning to communicate their passions and concerns effectively. The process not only teaches the technical aspects of filmmaking but also encourages students to tell compelling, persuasive stories that resonate with audiences and inspire action.

THE MINESHAFT

John dreams of making a short film and enlists his friends Timmy and Mike. When they need a leading man, John turns to Paul, a boxer and former theatre kid. As they start filming, Timmy mysteriously vanishes. The friends trace him to an abandoned mineshaft, where they face a malevolent man intent on harming them. Together, they must fight to survive and escape the mineshaft.
